About the Event

Exotic Echo has been holding the INTERNATIONAL LOINLOOM FESTIVAL every year in the first week of December since 2014 at its world headquarters at Diezephe village, Nagaland, Northeast India to promote the art and connect the world to the movement. Specialists and textile and travel enthusiasts from across the world and India travel to this Festival. 

The 6th edition of this Festival will be held on the 06 and 07 Dec 2019. A unique bio-diversity tour of the area is also conducted after every Festival which infuses additional capital into the area and gives more value addition to the guests. The event is slowly gathering momentum expanding every passing year. It has now been recognized as an extension of the famous Hornbill Festival of Nagaland by the Government of Nagaland, India.

We invite all you artists, designers, art lovers and whoever is intriguied by our vision to attend this cultural extravaganza, this December!

Following is a sequential list of Programme of the ILF 2019

Day 1 06/12/2019 (Friday)

1. Inauguration Function 11:00 AM

· Welcome and Introduction by Exotic Echo

· Greetings from Diezephe Village Council

· Prayer of Festival Dedication 

· Welcome Song by Yoruba Weavers and simultaneous weaving by 60 loinloom weavers

· Inaugural Speech by Mr. Mohan Rao (President of National Handloom and Handicraft Federation)

Events from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

2. Inauguration of special pavilion showcasing the eleven-year full organic story from cotton growing to finished product journey of Exotic Echo. (Opening by Mentors of Exotic Echo)

3. Display and sale of products @Festival Stalls Area

· Loinloom Textile Products

· Handicraft Products

· Naga Products

· TATA Antaran project products

4. Weaver’s Folk Songs and Folk Dances @ Demonstration Area

5. Weaving Demonstration Session @ Demonstration Area

· Opening by Chief Guest

· Weaving Demonstration by all 16 Naga tribes

· Demonstration by TATA Trustand Antaran Project Weavers

6. Weaver’s Dialogue Seminar @Dialogue Area commences at 12 pm

· Moderator: Mrs. Haiyale Kath Zhimomi

· Speaker: Mr. Mohan Rao

· Ms Sonnie Kath

· Mrs Manini from Chin State, Myanmar

· Ms Fumie Kobayashi, Japan

Lunch available at stalls on payment. Special Eastern Indian and Naga fusion food by famous food historian and food curator Ms. Pritha Sen.

(Fusion food meals curated by Ms Pritha Sen can be sampled at the Festival Resident Camp Area. Coupons for the same can be purchased at the Festival reception between 11 and 12 pm)

9. Music Concert from 6 – 7 pm

10. Bonfire, dinner & dance at the Festival Resident Camp Area 8 – 10 pm

DAY 2 07/12/2019 (Saturday)
